Nationwide/Multi-State Aggregated Criminal Record Database
Inquest has access to a data file that contains over 45 million offenders, 75 million offenses from over 67 sources in 37 states sources, as well as some county-level information in Texas and Florida. The file also contains over 8 million alias names. In addition, 38 states' worth of sex offender information will soon be added to this file. Most state's records are updated on a monthly basis. Because this database includes criminal record information from more than 38 different states, it can be helpful in uncovering offenses committed inside/outside of the applicant's county/counties of residence. It is a great employee screening product to complement the county-level searches and broaden the scope of your employee background checks. However, this search is not available as a stand alone product. It is not recommended as the primary criminal search because the currency and comprehensiveness of the data is inferior to the information obtained through county-level searches. County courts are the source of all criminal records (with the exception of federal offenses). Once data is aggregated, the quality of that information can deteriorate. If derogatory information is found using the database search, it is required that we verify the accuracy of the record at the relevant county-level court.
